World number 1 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus has defeated Australia's Sam Stosur to take out the 2012 WTA Qatar Open. 

The reigning Australian Open champion was ruthless in her 6-1 6-2 victory over the Australian number 1.   Stosur though can take something away from the tournament, content with a return to form following a disappointing Australian summer where she failed to fire.
