Well this weekend is a busy one for Sport, especially if you like footy - all codes.

Tonight's features for me is the Samoan vs Sth Africa match in the Rugby World Cup, and of course the clash of More Joyous and Sepoy in the Manikato Stakes at Mooney Valley.

In the Rugby, you would think that Sth Africa will be too strong, however the Samoan's are going to give it their all, needing a win to nab the final quarter final spot in this pool.    The Samoan's only need to show their form they displayed against Australia 2 months back to give the Springboks a fright.

In the Manikato, it is the champion 2yo of last season Sepoy versus the wonderful Gai Waterhouse Mare, More Joyous.  With more Joyous being kept to the sprints and mile races this Spring, she is going to extremely primed for tonight's race.  To top it off she has had 2 trials in readiness and flies 1st-up.  Sepoy is having his first start in open class tonight, but even Gai Waterhouse concedes he deserves his favouritism.    I give a sneaky chance to Sister Madly to spring an upset. My Trifecta: More Joyous, Sister Madly, Sepoy and Buffering.

Saturday is a double header, with the Wallabies taking on easy-beats Russia.   Would love to see Australia crush the Russians, leading from the front in the scrums and breakdowns.  I can see at least 70 points being scored by the Wallabies.

Saturday also sees the top 2 teams of the 2011 AFL season take each other on.  6 weeks ago, Collingwood would have been hot favourites.   However, how time can change some things..   Collingwood has had some recent losses and close call wins, whilst the Cats have had a much easier run to the Grand Final.  Accordingly the Cats are favourites and many expect them to win.  However I am not so sure and think this one could be an absolute blinder.   Pies by 2 goals is my tip, for what it's worth...

Sunday is also going ot be a double header with the Manly Sea Eagles taking on the New Zeland Warriors, and the Italians hoping to help the Wallabies by taking out Ireland.     I have no idea who I would like to see win the NRL, with my beloved Broncs losing against the Manly 18 (including Shane Hayne) last weekend.    Both teams are full of kiwis, which should make for a very passionate game.  I think the experience of Manly could come to the fore, but I would love to see the Warrior put it to the Silver Tails.

In the Rugby,  I will be cheering loudly for the Italians, as if they beat Ireland, and the Wallabies take maximum points against Russia (they will), the Wallabies will avoid the likely Quarter Final / Semi Final scenario of South Africa and then new Zealand, which of course would be by far the tougher side of the draw.

Well, good luck everyone and I hope you all have a top weekend.
